Living Area : | On the ground floor the open plan living area has exposed stone walls and original oak beams. The comfortable couch and armchairs are arranged around the open fireplace with wood-burning stove. There is a TV, DVD player, music system and a selection of books and games for adults and children. |
Kitchen : | The kitchen area has a range of fitted cupboards and is well equipped with gas hob, electric oven, microwave oven, fridge, washing machine and ironing facilities, as well as electric kettle, toaster and coffee maker. The dining table seats 4-6. |
Bedrooms : | There are two bedrooms on the first floor. Bedroom 1 has a king-size bed ( 160cm) and bedroom 2 has two standard single beds ( 90cm). Both rooms are comfortably furnished with fitted carpets and electric radiator heating and have views over the surrounding countryside. |
Bathrooms : | The bathroom on the first floor has a shower unit, wash basin and wc. There is a heated towel rail. |
Grounds : | French doors open from the Living room onto a private sunny terrace with barbeque and garden furniture for al-fresco dining and relaxing in the sun. The garden is totally private and has badminton and table tennis table. There is parking for up to 2 cars. |
Facilities : | Bed linen and towels are included and changed weekly during stays of 2 or more weeks. Cot and baby high chair available on request. Unlimited firewood provided as required. Gas, water and 50 units of electricity included in the price. Hamper of French produce on arrival in high season. |
Locality : | Canoes and kayaks are available for hire just 100m from the house. There is a small river-side beach just 200m away where you can enjoy picnicing, sunbathing, paddling and swimming in the clean safe water of the Dordogne. The wonderful 9 hole golfcourse at Rochebois is less than 2 miles away and all equipment can be rented. Walking and cycling can be enjoyed on the many public footpaths and country lanes in the area ( bike hire available locally). For a special occasion why not rent a hot air balloon or view the chateaux and the river valley from a small plane ( Sarlat/Domme aerodrome is a short drive away.) |
Travel Details : | By air : Vitrac is just an hours drive from Bergerac airport. Bordeaux, Toulouse, Limoges and Rodez airports are a 2 hour drive away. All major car hire companies operate from these airports and Europcar and Rentacar have offices in Sarlat ( 6km away) By rail : The nearest train station is in Sarlat where you can connect to Bordeaux and Bergerac by direct rail link and to Paris and Toulouse via Souillac. By road : From Paris, Toulouse and Limoges take exit 55 from the A20 motorway and proceed to Sarlat. Take the D46 to Vitrac. From Bordeaux take the A89 motorway as far as exit 16 ( Perigueux Est ) and proceed to Sarlat via Les Eyzies. Take the D46 to Vitrac. From Bergerac airport follow the signs for Sarlat and proceed to Vitrac on the D46. |
